Analyze Learners:

1.     17 Students in class

2.     10 Male/ 7 Females

3.     5-6 year olds

4.     1 student-learning disability

5.     Majority of the class is in the normal range of learning and displaying learning capacities.

o      11 Chamorro, 2 Filipino, 1 Yapese, 4 Chuukese

5.     Current knowledge is that most of the class is up to speed with what lessons are being taught. We are going to learn about what are movements and know the difference between movements and no movements through actions physically and in pictures.

o      Visual 50%

o      Kinesthetic (Hands On) 50%

State Objectives:

1.    Students will first pay attention to the presentation the teacher will show different pictures about movements and no movements using SlideShare, & the many other different was you can see movement(physically-body movements with streamers, movement on paper using objects and paint).

2.    The students had a brief introduction a week ago about the SlideShare and now the teacher will review the process of the use to SlideShare and how to upload the pictures they have chosen for their presentation in the end.

3.    After the brief presentation by the teacher, the students are placed in groups of 3 and will choose out of a basket what movement is assigned to their group (ex: hip movement, feet movement, etc.).

4.    Then the “kidz Bop” music will be playing from an iPod on an iHome.

5.    The students will have to “Freeze Dance” to the music using their streamers and movements assigned to them as well as following the beat of the music. Each group will have a chance to show their assigned movements inside the circle and each group will have the same opportunity to go in the circle.  It is called ‘Freeze Dance’ because once the music stops all the students have to freeze in the position they are in.

6.    In a couple of seconds freezing/staying still the teacher will ask the students which part of the freeze dance showed movement and which part of the dance showed no movement.

7.    After the freeze dance the students will go to a corner of the room and each student in the group will have the chance to use the digital camera as well as pose for a picture. Each group is required to have 3 pictures of each student in the group showing movement in the picture and 3 pictures of each student showing no movement.

8.    When all the 6 pictures are completed, as a group they have to decide 3 other pictures that show either movement or not movement by using the pictures in a book, magazine, etc.

9.    Having the 3 pictures from a book, magazine, etc. as a group they will help each other scan the picture along with some assistance from the teacher then upload their 6 photos taken by the digital camera and create a slideshow of their pictures using slideshare and again with teacher’s assistance.

10. Finally, when all the groups are done they will have a chance to present their pictures to the class and explain why those pictures they chose show movement and why it doesn’t snow movement.  They will use a projector so the whole class can see and follow along with the pictures.

11. For the student with learning disability, she will be partnered up with a high functioning student and work together to accomplish and complete their group assignments.

Media, Methods, & Materials:

We will be using

·       Computer [slideshare]

·       iPod

·       iHome

·       Digital camera

·       Scanner

·       Magazines

·       Books

·       Streamers

Utilize Media, Methods, & Materials:

·       Computer: to show an example of the lesson through the use of slideshare and knowing the pictures of people, things, etc. that show movement and what doesn’t show movement.

·       iPod: to play a “KIDZ BOP-REMIX” music while the students dances around in a circle along with each groups assigned movements.

·       Digital Camera: to take pictures of each student in their group showing any kind of movement and capturing an image of it.

·       Scanner: students will choose additional 3 other pictures from a magazine, book, etc. and scan it to identify the movements they chose.

·       Streamers: to use when dancing to the music and learning movements through their body movements.

Require Learner Participation:

1.     Explain to the students what assignment they will be doing and what multimedia tools both the teacher and the students will be using.

2.     I will then show the students a slideshare of pictures that show movement and no movement as well as the lines that can be drawn to show the picture moving. (straight lines under the picture, wiggly lines, zigzag, etc.).

3.     I will have extra blown up pictures on a butcher paper and have the students come up to the board and draw the lines to show the pictures provided moving, or showing some type of movement.

4.     Finally, the students will draw their streamers they will have from the freeze dance activity and split the paper into half.  Having the paper divided the students will have to draw on the top portion the streamer showing movement and then the bottom portion will have the drawing of the streamer showing no movement.

5.     Teacher can ask the students to pick up their streamers before beginning and have them see it moving and staying still.

Evaluate and Revise:

1.    As students are working on their activity teacher goes around and makes sure students are on task and working together as a team.

2.    Finally, we will all review the assignment and what we all learned as well as have an open discussion about the assignment and any comments about what they learned about the activities and using multimedia tools to help them complete their assignments.

3.    In addition,  the teacher will also ask the students what were the good and bad things about using multimedia tools to do their assignments.  From their feedback the teacher can make some changes on the lesson plan for the next time an activity will involve the use of technology.
