Incorporating The Use Of Technology In My Lesson Plan

 

The use of technology has taken lesson planning to a whole new level of learning.  Incorporating multimedia tools into my lesson plan has not only helped myself in broadening my mind when creating a lesson plan but also for the students to get use to the use of technology now and let them be aware of the different ways of learning and doing activities not only using paper, paint, etc. but technology itself which is being used often around world.  Why not start at a young age?

            There are always going to be some difficulty when creating a lesson plan using multimedia especially if the student has never used one before.  This will be a challenge but in the end as a teacher I will always keep in the back of my mind that this student will become technologically savvy one day and I can count myself as one of the people who helped him open his mind to new things when learning and that there are many ways that technology can help one in the future when creating presentations, etc. 

            I have learned a lot working on this lesson plan.  This will be the first to actually incorporate 4 multimedias in a single lesson plan.  We all know that schools can’t always provide multimedia tools but as a teacher I feel that sometimes we have to go out of our way to help the students have more opportunity to use multimedia tools in the classroom and what better age to teach students about technology and the use of technology then at the elementary level.  In this way they are better prepared for any multimedias they will encounter in high school, workforce, etc.

            Technology is used often in a resource room and having a student with a disability in a regular classroom seeing all the multimedia being used will gain more motivation for the students.  Maybe the student had some experience with technology in the resource room and can share with the students about how useful it was and have the rest of the class motivated to trying out more multimedia, exploring, learning and having fun at the same time.

            It is a step by step process when using multimedia but the more the students practice the more lesson plans the teacher can make incorporating multimedia tools and having the opportunity to do more  with the students when learning new things.
